Stage Band The Stage Band is for students who have a demonstrated sense of jazz style and playing techniques. It is open to students from all years by audition and invitation, but is predominantly a senior ensemble which performs for school functions and HSC exams. Rehearsals are held at 7.45 am on Fridays in C15. Cost: nil Contact: Mrs Sally Cooper, Music Department 9144 1689 ext 124 Rubber Band This is a transitional band aimed at fostering links between students in Years 5-10 from St Ives High School and our feeder primary schools. The band performs repertoire reflecting the instrumentation and abilities of its performers and will perform at the SIHS Twilight Fair and Midwinter Music Concert. Rehearsal time to be notified. Cost (2009): $120 per term. Contact: Mrs Sally Cooper, Music Department 9144 1689 ext 124 String Ensemble  This ensemble provides an opportunity for string players from Years 7 to 12 to combine in a small, close-knit performance group with a broad repertoire of both classical and popular styles. The ensemble performs for many school functions as well as community events. Rehearsals are once a week during Monday lunchtimes in C14. Performance opportunities include participating in the Arts North Secondary Concert, which takes place in the City Recital Hall at Angel Place. Rehearsals held on Wednesday at lunchtime.
