Students in year 11 or 12 may attend TAFE to do a TAFE delivered Vocational, Education and Training course TVET usually on Tuesday afternoons from 2-6pm at Hornsby TAFE.

There are a large variety of courses available depending on the students interest.

A list of courses and an application form can be obtained from the Careers Adviser. This is usually provided in the year 11 subject selection handbook.

TAFE classes are 4 hours in duration and run for 3 school terms. Students leave school on the 12.36pm bus to Gordon station and then walk from Hornsby station to the TAFE as a group.

Most courses are non UAI courses and just count 2 units towrads the HSC but some courses are both UAI and HSC courses eg Accounting. Some courses run for 2 years and count 2 units per year.

TAFE attendance is strict and if a student misses 3 classes they will be asked to leave the course as they will not be able to satsfactorily complete the course.
