Thank-you for your interest in the St Ives High School  Parents and Citizens Association. By taking an interest in the school's P&C, you will get to know your child's school community as well as contribute to its growth. There are many ways in which parents can contribute to the P&C: a variety of meetings, functions and events are held throughout the year, catering to people's individual needs and time constraints. To get an idea of what's on offer, please download the 2010 P&C Calendar of Events here. You will find a number of ways in which to contribute:

Volunteer in the the canteen and uniform shop. Even a couple of hours each term will make a world of difference. Without the assistance of parents, the P&C cannot provide efficient services to the students and staff at St Ives High School. Download a volunteer form here.

Attend the monthly P&C meeting. Meetings are held regularly on advertised Tuesdays. at 7.30 pm in the Learning Centre or the School Library. The meetings are a forum for you to ask questions, voice your opinions and play an active and constructive role in your child’s education. Guest speakers will often be invited to address parents on a range of pertinent issues.

Join in a working bee to beautify the school grounds.  Working bees are held once each term.  For dates, watch out for the notices in the school’s newsletter or on the P & C Events web page.  The Grounds Committee identify specific maintenance and improvement tasks to be undertaken and assign them to particular years with a coordinator to direct and assist.  Afterwards we all come together to celebrate our achievements over a cold drink.  The grounds really impact on the spirit and the morale of the school and you can be part of making a tangible difference. Meet at the registration desk outside the office at 1 pm. Contact Carol Parr either by email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Be involved in a social or fund raising event.  The P & C hosts several social functions each year, including a wine and cheese night, trivia night and the Twilight Fair which features the renowned St Ives High fashion parade.  It is through fund raising that the P & C is able to enhance the facilities of the school.  Your support and ideas are most welcome.

Make the Year 12 Graduation an evening to remember.  Traditionally Year 11 parents organise this event.

Help out at the Canteen.
The P & C is responsible for the operation of the school canteen, which provides nutritious food at reasonable prices.  The canteen employs managers which are supported by a roster of volunteer parents.  Can you spare one day a term to help out for a few hours?  Ring The canteen Manger on 9144 2601 during school hours.

Meet new friends over tea and coffee.
Cathy Malone hosts a support group for women who have children at St Ives High.  The group meets at Cathy's home on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 9.30 - 11.00 am.  It is primarily for  those who are new to the school or area, but is open to any mother who would enjoy being part of such a group.  You will be warmly welcome whether you are new to Australia, the school or are a local who has been around for some time.  St Ives High is a wonderful family community and we would like to further promote this by regularly getting together. Ring Cathy on 9440 7305.

Help with reading or cover library books.  If you can spare an hour or two, drop by the school and lend a hand with the reading program or by covering new library books.

Tea, Coffee, Cake and Slice selling at school functions. An excellent way to meet new people and do your bit for fundraising for our school. Volunteer an hour of your time at school functions. Look out for up coming functions on the P & C website.
