MindQuest

The MindQuest Project is unique to St Ives High School and was initiated in 2008. Since its inception the high school has continue to develop its strong relationships with local primary schools and to provide solid and significant opportunities for our gifted and talented students in years 7 & 8.

MindQuest is an innovative project that targets gifted and talented students in years 5 and 6 with the intention of enriching their knowledge in a diverse range of topics and issues, but most importantly to broaden the children's perspective on learning.

Ultimately MindQuest provides the opportunity for co operation between gifted and talented students from local primary schools and the St Ives High GATs students in years 7 and 8. This encourages self confidence and allows for experiences that extend well beyond the limitations of the regular classroom. 

MindQuest students travel to St Ives High School once a week for ten weeks, during which time they participate in tutorials, workshops, excursions and problem solving activities with an emphasis on higher order, critical and analytical thinking.
